The Uhuru Market Water Project is underway with the drilling of a borehole for a much-needed water source. It usually takes three days to develop the borehole, and for this project we ended at a depth of more than 750 feet (230 meters). The expected yield for this new safe and clean water source is more than 9,200 gallons (35,000 liters) per hour! In addition to providing a clean and sustainable water source from the drilling of the borehole, the project will also provide drainage and sewage, the installation of a high level water tank, improvement of the access road and market roofing, and various other renovations and installations. Ultimately, this project will support more than a total of 3,000 vendors at the Uhuru Market. ... See MoreSee Less

I am joining the Ekenywa family for the Virtual 5K Walk/Run for Water on Friday-Sunday, August 28-30. Help me to raise essential funds to provide clean and reliable water for women, children and individuals in need.
During this unprecedented time, large events and gatherings have been cancelled, but our sense of community and generosity are stronger than ever. This virtual 5K event is a unique way for individuals like me to stay active and have the ability to give to those in need. Let’s join together as a community to raise funds for families and communities in need in Kenya.
